Ghost stories

I have been scaring the crap out of myself reading ghost stories online. I love how these things start to crop up around Halloween, just in time to ruin a whole a summer of blissfully ignoring my overactive imagination. I start out reading like a normal person, but I end up squatting awkwardly on the couch, in an effort to thwart any cold grey things that are about to grab my ankles. That Kale Salad

It’s that time of year again! It’s kale season. You might think from the way the stuff is everywhere that all year is Kale season, but it’s actually now. The magic of Kale is that it actually tastes better after the first frost. It’s a hardy bastard that laughs in the face of our harsh Canadian winters. For that I like it, but I still prefer other leafy greens like swiss chard and and beet greens for every other use, aside from this salad. Continue reading

My favorite CBC Comedy Coup Videos so far (and so can you!)

If you’re anything like me, you spent last night prone on the couch watching as many of the awesome and terrible Canadian video submissions that went live last night on the CBC comedy coup. If you didn’t, no worries! I’ve collected some of my favorite so far so you don’t even have to sludge through all the not so great ones. And some are not so great. One of them is just two guys smashing glasses and porcelain figurines.
